G E T T I N G   S T A R T E D Fact One:  Forming a non-profit is not rocket science.  Fact Two:  (And here's the good news!) it does not require hiring lawyers.  If you can follow directions, you can do it yourself.  Assuming you know what your non-profit is going to do, actually forming it as a legal, federally-recognized organization comes down to knowing which forms to fill out and filling them out properly.
